Weekend Highlights – #plankaday, spinning and a lot of healthy food ideas

Good morning, friends! (if a Monday morning can possibly be good 🙂 ) Mine is good! I hope your is, too.

Here are some weekend highlights for you to read/look through.

As you know, Saturday starts with “Saturday double” for me – spinning and yoga. This Saturday my watch was acting funny turning on and off the heart rate monitor, so the calorie count below is probably incorrect, but the distance and time are right. Oh how I love my 11-miler before breakfast!

Also, this Saturday I started my plank-a-day challenge. Unfortunately, with my wrist pain I can’t do it on straight arms for long, so I do mine on my forearms. I have never tried timing my plank before, so it was a very interesting experience. I do think it would be better if someone could time me rather than having the stopwatch right in front of me. I think I would last longer in my plank if I wasn’t able to see the seconds going by 🙂

After the Saturday double I went home and made myself a big breakfast.

After that I had a pedicure appointment and my tired feet finally got their break from all the spinning, walking, and yoga-ing of the past few days 🙂

Saturday was the cheat food lunch day 🙂 I had a blueberry muffin and a glass of Silk Pure Almond milk.

For dinner my husband took me out to Applebee’s. I had their Lemon Parmesan Shrimp and Strawberry Lemonade – oh so delicious!

After dinner we hit the pool and spent the rest of the day there.

Sunday is my sleep-in day, and finally I was able to actually sleep in instead of jumping up wide awake at 6.30 am.

I love Sunday mornings because I have time to make breakfast instead of thinking “ok, what can I eat that’s healthy and quick” like on weekday mornings. We have a tradition in our family – Special Breakfast. It is usually Sunday morning and one of us (or both of us) make (s) a big delicious breakfast. We usually do that when the kids are with us. When it’s just the two of us, we either go out for breakfast or make something smaller for just the two of us. This week it was Chicken Omelette with black olives on the side.

It was so HOT here on Sunday we both couldn’t wait for the Swim Club to open at 1:00 pm. To kill time I did my nails:

And did my Day 2 of my Plank-a-Day.

I held it 10 seconds longer than Day 1!!!

Unfortunately we didn’t spend much time at the pool that day – they announced a severe thunderstorm warning and we had to go back home.

I grabbed a quick afternoon snack while waiting for dinner time.

Dinner that night was….was…. HOT DOGS again 🙂 I know, I know…

That was my quiet and relaxing weekend!

Stay fit, friends! And don’t let this Monday beat you 🙂
