Whole30 Week 2 – Eats, Results and Plans

My latest update on our Whole30 Week 2 experience: eats, feels and results.

whole30 week 2

Hey guys! How was your weekend?

It was another fitness weekend for us here – this past Sunday we rode 30K for the annual Race, Run, Ride & Ramble.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day for a ride and we both felt full of energy (I “blame” Whole30 for that part). It was tough though – nice reality check for a Spinning instructor. 🙂

But what an awesome burn it was 🙂

Anyway, back to the subject here. Quick post today to update you on how our Whole30 Week 2 has been and how this whole thing (pun intended) is going for us.

Whole30 Week 2

Went by quickly, that’s all I have to say. The first week you’re still thinking every time you’re about to eat something (Is it compliant? or “legal” is what my hubby calls it). Whole30 week 2 takes it down to automation 🙂 No more thoughts that register – all subtle brain work. We just don’t reach for the foods that are not “legal”.

Here are some food highlights from Whole30 Week 2 in our house.

We’ve been loving the individually portioned salads lately – just enough for one person. And they look cute, too don’t they?

Even though it’s warmer outside now, we still enjoy occasional soup. This Tascan Chicken Soup comes together in less than an hour and is sure to become your family’s favorite! Stay tuned for the recipe!

Sometimes you just gotta have lamb! I love lamb occasionally – especially with roasted parsnips. Last Friday we put this in the oven, went for an hour walk and came back to a delicious meal.

Breakfasts are still my favorite! And no, I’m not sick of eggs yet 🙂 Just have plenty of fruit and veg to go with it 🙂

On a side note for this week – this time we’re breaking the rules a little. We’re weighing ourselves weekly just to see what’s happening. Of course, my husband lost twice as much weight as I have and I’m jealous 🙂 But I’ll survive. I’ll take that if I continue feeling as awesome as I do!

I noticed this past week I’ve been sleeping much better than usual. Another wonderful discovery made on Whole30 week 2 was that my knees are actually feeling better! Runner’s knee is not acting up as much as it usually does. No, the issues are not gone completely, but the day after the 30K bike ride felt like nothing happened. Nothing.

Perhaps, my husband is right and we should make it a Whole365 🙂

So now it’s your turn, guys! Tell me what’s been cooking and don’t forget to check out what’s going on over at A Hungry Runner today!

  1. My legs are jiggling just thinking about riding a 30k! Good for you 🙂 as for the whole30, so glad you’re feeling so alive and well! Your eats are all so tasty looking 🙂 come make me eggs and individual salads, I am so lazy I never make them! As for me, I made pork tenderloin last week, tacos for this week, and an Asian Noodle Bowl I’ll be unveiling soon 🙂
