Giveaway: 3 (THREE) Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitors

Hey guys! Happy Friday!

I have a surprise for you today.

It’s giveaway time 🙂

If you remember, I’m an Ambassador for Polar. Seriously, that is the most pleasant job I’ve ever done in my life. Promote the company and products I truly love and believe in? Yes, please! I love every minute of it.

I’ve been using Polar products for almost 2 years now. My Polar FT40 HRM was the very first Polar product I ever got and it came from my mom (like most great things in my life):

exercise

I absolutely adored this watch for the longest time – it was just what I needed.  It tracked my heart rate, calories and time I spent exercising – be it yoga or indoor cycling, or anything else I decided to try.

Later on I got this baby from Polar that I use now and absolutely LOVE:

polar rcx5

This watch came at the time when I took the next step forward – not just tracking (as I used to), but TRAINING as I try to do now with the help of Polar.

So. Polar has kindly provided me with 3 (THREE) Polar FT4 heart rate monitor watches for this giveaway to you guys.

And that’s what I’m doing today as a “THANK YOU”  to all of you for supporting this blog and all my crazy ideas that come with it on a weekly basis 🙂

giveaway

A few things that are included in the giveaway terms and conditions but I still wanted to emphasize here:

  • All three watches I’m giving away are in color PINK. No other colors are available for this giveaway.
  • The giveaway is open to US residents 18 years of age and older.
  • If you or your immediate family are affiliated with Polar in any way, you may not enter the giveaway.
  • The winner will have to provide me with their mailing address, which will be shared with Polar (the prizes will be shipped directly from Polar office).
  • One prize per person. In other words – if you win, you do not get 3 watches. You get one.
  • Giveaway will run until 9:00 AM (Eastern) on December 5th, 2015. The winners will be announced within 48 hours from the time this giveaway closes.

Tell me: have you ever used a heart rate monitor? Have you ever used it for anything other than calorie burn information? 🙂

Good luck with the giveaway and I look forward to congratulating you on getting your Polar!

Have a great weekend.

Lena

  1. I would love one of these! I’ve never used a heart rate monitor. I have used a bodymedia armband, and questioned the accuracy, especially during cycling class! I’m a new cycling instructor and would love to have something like this to help with my training.

  2. Hi Lean!
I have been using the SUUNTO M4 for a few years. I don’t necessarily ‘train’ with it, but I initially bought it as I was learning more about heart rate and was curious what my Max/Working/Resting were. I kind of got lost in the seemingly complex arena of HR training. I’d love to learn more and it’d be great to see what the Polar fuss is all about (of course, I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews). Does it come with an instructor bot? lol

  3. Kayla McCormick says

I have used HR monitors before, but badly need a new one. I teach cycling to soldiers at Ft. Carson Army base in Colorado and will be teaching new classes to pregnant females after the first of the year. I’ve expressed to them the extreme importance of using HR monitoring as well. I wish the Army had the ability to provide or that soldiers could afford to get everything they needed, but it’s just not the case. I’m often lending my equipment to my clients. I use it lastly for caloric burn, but primarily to watch HR zones, time, how quickly I’m recovering post drill. Thank you for doing these giveaways. It’s a great thing for everyone!

    • Hi Kayla.
It’s my pleasure. I’m grateful to be part of the Team Polar and be able to do things like that.
Good luck with your new class and with the giveaway!

  4. I used to wear one religiously for spin classes. When I started teaching, I wore one to start and found it interesting to see how my heart rate would be higher from talking and projecting my voice.

Unfortunately I got lazy about it and stopped…and now have no idea where the watch or strap are, so this would be perfect!

I am so excited and determined to always train successfully! My favorite color is pink and this willotivate me further:))

  6. Hello Deena,

  7. Hi Lena! I use the Polor heart rate monitor. I have to admit, I have more to learn about using it to it’s full potential. I’m really looking forward to my gym purchasing bike meters that will sync with the Polar monitor!

  8. PINK!! need I say more?
I’m really in need of a new HR monitor! My chest strap is a mess, and the holes and my watch band holes are ripped!
    and it’s PINK!!

  9. I already had a polar, and it’s been malfunctioning, even with the battery changes in both the chest strap and watch itself. Very frustrating, haven’t owned it for that long. Maybe 4 years or so? I’m hoping to win this one and have much better luck. Haven’t wanted to spend more $ on another polar after what happened.

  10. I haven’t tried a heart rate monitor yet but I’ve been wanting to! It would be good for my obstacle race training as it’s not always pace you have to worry about on uneven ground but if your heart rate is staying the same and how hard your body is working.

  11. I’ve used the HR monitor on the treadmill and elliptical to assess how hard I was working out, but not very often. I would love to have an HRM like this for spinning class.

  12. I have used HR monitors (and recommend them frequently). They are very useful to monitor percentage of MHR while training. They help the wearer become more aware of the relationship between how they feel when working out at optimal levels. I’d love to have a new pink Polar. I’ve not had a HRM watch for several months since my last one gave it up. I’d love to be able to once again share the benefits and help others set up their watches. Great blog, BTW!

  13. Hi Lena,
It s really great to read your blog, not only me who can learn from you but also many ladies from all over the world. I love it.

  14. I am currently using my second Polar watch. I think they are great and easy to use. I use mine to track my max heart rate during spin workouts. I like to see how my body responds to different challenges. I would love to win one of these watches to use as a give-a-way to my spin participants. I would like to use give it to the member who chooses to make exercise a priority throughout the crazy holiday season! Their benefits would be two fold–continuing their fitness routine and beginning to track their workouts with a brand new HR monitor! Thanks!

  16. I used to work with them in the late 1990s and early 2000s before blogs LOL. I would sell them to my clients for monitoring their heart rate, this was before the pre calorie burn feature. I don’t have one, I just take my heart rate manually. I don’t think I would really trust the calorie burn feature to monitor my calories especially since I have hypothyroidism.

  17. Hi, Lena, I’ve been reading you blog for sometime now… congrats and please, keep posting. I am a big fan of HRM, i’ve had Garmin 910 XT , extremely expensive, after 1 st year nolonger supports firmware updates and it stopped showing accurate heart rate a long time ago, only good with gps tracking and pace calculation, a shame for a 500 usd device…
So I am in need of an hrm and the Polar FT4 seems like a great choice

    • Hi Oana.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m honored to be a blogger you read!
Unfortunately the giveaway is for US residents only, but I would strongly recommend looking into a Polar watch to anyone who cycles – indoor or outdoor.

  18. I have always wanted to track my heart rate when I work out!

  19. I used one once during a class in college, but never for an extended period.

  20. Mary Woollard says

No, Ive never used a heart rate monitor, except for the one on my treadmill. I have been wanting a Polar hrm a long time!

  21. Hi Lena, I am a cycle instructor and competitive cyclist. I have yet to go to a heart rate monitor, but I am looking to make that change very soon.

    • Hi Ray! Using an HRM changed the way I looked at my training and at teaching cycling. I’m sure it will change yours, too.
Thanks for stopping by at Lean Lena today 🙂

  22. David Bleier says

I know it’s pink, so this would be a great Christmas gift for my wife.

  23. I bought my first heart rate monitor in 1995 and it died a few years ago. I used it to train, but I don’t think I was very smart about it (we didn’t have the same access to the Internet and information back in 1995 can you believe it?). Since then I’ve become GF certified and would love to use it, just haven’t been able to dedicate the funds. Thanks for doing this!

  24. Mila Levine says

Would love to hav one! Hope I am not too late. I teach Spin and Zumba

  25. I love pink!

I have used New Balance and Polar HRM’s. Currently I don’t have one that works so this would be a great win.
