TRX Circuit Workout – Anna – TRX Thursday

Challenging TRX circuit workout and class plan for TRX instructors. 30-minute circuit format consisting of 3 rounds targeting core, upper body and lower body.

TRX circuit workout

Hey guys! I announce today to be TRX Thursday! First of many 🙂 Are you excited?

You know I took a TRX® Instructor Course back in September last year (Oh my! Has it really been that long?) and I’ve been teaching TRX classes at my Y ever since then.

I have a TRX trainer at home and I use it pretty regularly 🙂

TRX

Anyway, that’s not really what today’s post is about.

Ever since I started teaching TRX®, I’ve been putting together my own class plans/routines. I think I only used someone else’s routine once.

So. I decided to start sharing my TRX Class Plans with you on Thursdays. Not sure if it will be every Thursday, every other Thursday or once a month – we’ll see how it goes 🙂

Before going any further, let me tell you this:

I DO NOT recommend performing this workout unless you are a TRX® instructor or are supervised by one. This post does not give detailed instruction on each and every movement and exercise included in the class plan below because it is designed for TRX® instructors who know the proper technique for these exercises and how to cue it. Remember to consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program.

So, back to the fun part 🙂 Why “Anna” you may ask? I teach two classes a week – 30 and 45 minutes each. My 30-minute classes are named with female names, and my 45-minute classes are named with male names – just so that I could tell them apart when I accumulate a 1000 of them 🙂 Anyway, I present to you…

30-Minute TRX Circuit Workout – Class Plan – Anna

Warm-Up (7 minutes, 10 seconds)

Cool Down (6 minutes, 10 seconds)

How to time all that and not go nuts? Use Interval Timer App for your phone 🙂

Get that cute tripod, too.

Here’s a printable class plan for this TRX circuit workout to print and take along with you, my fellow TRX instructors: TRX Circuit Anna – 30 min.

If you like this class format, you can download my MS Word Template for the TRX Circuit Workout here. Just fill in your exercises and change it up every time. Huge time savior when getting ready for your class!

So that’s that, guys.

Tell me: have you ever taken a TRX class? Do you have a TRX trainer at home? What’s your favorite TRX exercise?

Take care and hang in there – it’s almost Friday 🙂

  1. I have TRX at home and don’t really use it enough. Thanks for the reminder. Great workout here.

  2. I too got TRX certified in the fall. I started teaching in January and I have a small class of older woman. I have been using the Body Blast Format. Have you tried that? I’m afraid the circuit may be too intense at this point. I want them to feel comfortable and get their form down before we move on to a quicker pace. Any suggestions? Have you tried that format yet? Also, what do you use for music? Thanks!!

    • Hi Mary. Yes, I use the Body Blast format quite a lot. My class likes it – mostly because there is no cardio in it 🙂 As for music, I’m all over the place. Check out the Cycling Playlists section on my blog – I use a lot of the same music for TRX classes.

  3. Thanks for this printable workout! I just started teaching TRX and have spent hours trying to come up with varying routines in intensity, moves and more. This will be great to add to my collection. I wish it were easy to find more or to share with other instructors!

    • You’re most welcome, Kathy! I wish so too, and since there are not many places like that, I decided to start my own 🙂 I will be posting a new routine here every Thursday. You can sign up for blog updates by e-mail and get them right into your inbox 🙂

  4. I’ve been searching for a good TRX workout! I love the 30 minute time frame…most workouts I see are much too short. I’m a runner looking to build muscle, do you think that TRX alone can get good results?

    • Jen, glad you found what you’re looking for!!! TRX is definitely a great way to strength train and has a lot to offer for runners. I wouldn’t quit a weight lifting routine though if you have one – diversity and muscle confusion is always good 🙂
