Are you going on vacation to Cape May, NJ? We just got back from a short trip there and I have a couple of recommendations as to where to go to eat in the area. Check it out.
Hey guys! How was your weekend?
Mine totally started upside down!
I went to try aerial yoga for the first time, and I am absolutely IN LOVE with it! If you haven’t already, try it as soon as you can, so much fun!
If you’re local to my area – Om My Yoga is your place to go. LOVE. That’s all I’ve got to say about this place, the instructors and the aerial yoga. 🙂
So, Tasty Tuesday time!
Cape May and Wildwood, NJ – Places to Eat
Last weekend we went to Cape May, NJ for our annual beach getaway. We’ve never been there before but heard a lot of great things about it, so we decided to choose Cape May for this year’s beach trip. We actually stayed at Wildwood which is about 5 miles from Cape May.
We got there late on Friday night, checked in and went straight to the beach. Yeah, we’re crazy like that. 🙂 We just wanted to get our feet in the water because, how can you not when you’re near the ocean???
Anyway, after a busy work week and a 4 hour drive we crashed for the night.
The next morning C. woke me up at 5:30 am because she wanted to go watch the sun rise at the beach. The things we do for our kids… I was up (not necessarily awake) and out the door we went. As soon as we got out of the room, we both gasped because we saw this:
This picture doesn’t do justice to what we saw…It was BEAUTIFUL!
We hung out at the beach all day on Saturday and set out to find a place to eat when we were done swimming, surfing and enjoying our beach time.
My hubby is an internet search genius – he always finds the best places to eat! So we all agreed that being so close to the ocean we wanted to go and eat some fresh seafood. We were not looking for anything special or fancy, just some good food. So we found Crab & Seafood Shack. This place will serve your food in paper bowls and plastic “to go” containers so don’t expect a fancy laid table and a white table cloth and candles 🙂 However, I can promise you that you won’t need those “to go” containers – the food is so good there will be none left “to go” 🙂
Here’s what we had.
The absolutely amazing home made crab chowder:
And the winner of the night definitely was the lobster roll! Perfectly seasoned and delicious:
The next day it was time to leave and we decided to hit another popular place for breakfast – Sand Castle Restaurant.
I will always remember this place as the one where I had THE BEST pancakes ever!
These are banana-almond pancakes. Bananas are not just served on the side, but also added to the batter, which made these pancakes taste a little bid like banana bread. And I love banana bread!
Anyway, next time you’re in Cape May or Wildwood area, be sure to visit these two places if you’re a foodie like us 🙂
Even if you don’t I hope you get a chance to see a sunrise like this:
and if you do, enjoy it as best you can 🙂

The lobster roll and crab soup look to die for. If I’m ever in Cape May you can bet I’ll be finding that place!

Wildwood and Cape May are my childhood! My favorite place!
Rebecca, we loved it too – will definitely be coming back.
I love Cape May! WE were there a few summers ago and they do have great restaurants don’t they? Dying to try aerial yoga as well. I don’t think I would look quite as graceful as you do~
