Hello, friends!
This is an “a little bit of everything” Thursday post 🙂
On the food front:
Yesterday’s lunch was the leftover Summer Vegetable Salad and a super-delicious salmon sandwich my husband made for me:
What’s in the sandwich: German dark whole wheat bread, light mayo, smoked salmon, purple onion, lettuce, smoked Gouda cheese.
I had a busy day at work and a yoga class planned for the evening, so dinner had to be quick and easy. So I just quickly cooked up some herb chicken tortellini
and my husband made some fresh basil (from our garden) and pine nuts pesto:
What’s in the pesto: 1 small bag of pine nuts (roast them until golden brown on a frying pan), 2 cloves garlic, a bunch of fresh basil leaves.
After dinner it was almost time for my yoga class. Usually I don’t eat before yoga, but this time I had almost 1.5 hours, so I thought it’d be ok if I did. And it was. I enjoyed a nice and relaxing class with Jim, which helped me to forget about the troubles of my work day 🙂
Since I started having issues with my left knee and had to take it easier on my exercise program, I sort of fell out of my habit and routine. I understand now that I should have kept going – doing something for my upper body and core rather than taking a total break from everything more than 2 days a week. So here we go now – I find it harder to motivate myself to exercise. What do people do these days if they are looking for something (in my case – motivation)? That’s right, they Google it, or search Pinterest, Instagram and what not.
So I went on Pinterest and created a separate Fitness Motivation board where I will keep quotes and pictures that motivate me to get up and go, go, go.
Here are some of my most favorite:
How do you motivate yourself to exercise?
Stay fit, friends, it’s almost Friday!
I know it`s hard when you have an injury, but don`t get discouraged! I`m sure you`ll come back to your routine even stronger than you were before! 🙂
Thank you, dear!
