Hey there my fitness friends!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are rested enough for this Monday!
I had a very good week and feel ready for the new one.
Today’s post is one of the “Motivation Monday” series with my previous week’s exercise recap. I hope it helps you motivate yourself to get out there and exercise!
Monday evening was my usual spin class with Melissa. It was a very good ride, even though for some reason I wasn’t feeling so well that evening. I still got my usual 12 ml out of it! Yey!
Tuesday – went swimming with my hubby. With all the rain we have been getting, the water temperature was surprisingly pleasant.
Wednesday – did an hour of yoga with Jim – was awesome as always!
Thursday – I had a weight lifting session scheduled with Jim. Oh my god, was that a good workout! The day after even turning the steering wheel of my car was a challenge, and it hurt to put my shoulder on my knee in lunge pose! I apparently used muscles I hadn’t been using for a long-long time (never?). My favorite part of this workout were the straight back dead lifts – oh dear, that made my hamstrings feel soooo good. Not so much the day after, though 🙂
The number of cal. fat I burnt in this workout as opposed to a spin class was just a revelation to me!
I don’t know about you, guys, but I am motivated!
Friday – yoga with Jim. My poor sore arms and legs started feeling a little better after this one!
Saturday: my usual Saturday double happened alright this weekend. First – sweaty 13 miles with Tara:
Followed by Yoga with Jim:
Yoga was “sweaty”…Just because I was stupid enough to leave my towel at home and so I couldn’t take a shower between the classes! I thought for a second that I could rent a towel at the Y, but then thought of where it might had been before and changed my mind 🙂
Sunday: easy and relaxed yoga class with Susan.
On Saturday, my husband went to Cole’s Bicycles and got my new SPD compatible bike peddles that we had ordered a week before.
Which means what?…Which means I can now ride outside in my cycling shoes my hubby got me for my birthday! Which was exactly what we did on Sunday evening after dinner – went for a bike ride. The weather was just perfect for it – cool, not windy, sunny and beautiful!
The shoes worked out just great with the new peddles! I love the feeling of being “clipped in”.
As you see, friends, I had a pretty full week here!

Have a wonderful Monday, my friends, and stay fit!
So happy I connected with you through Brooke and the Back to Basics challenge!
Wanted to ask you your opinion on your Polar heart rate monitor? I’ve been trying to decide what one I want to get for so long and this one was in the running!
Hi Shannon!
Thanks for following and welcome! I am loving this challenge so far – I got connected with so many wonderful ladies through it!
I have Polar FT40 and I love it! It is very easy to set up and use, it is just the perfect size, the chest band is comfortable to wear and fits really well so I don’t even notice it.
The watch itself is very accurate and gives you a lot of info about your workout.
Let me know if you want me to take a pic of every screen with workout details, I’d be happy to do it for you so you can see what the watch can do for you.
