Hey hey, my fitness friends 🙂
Happy (?) Monday to you! Are you ready for another week of work and fun? I feel pretty good today – I think it is going to be a very-very fun week…and – this weekend is our second wedding anniversary. It’s been very happy two years – with ups and downs like in any family in general and a step-family in particular.
But not for once did I ever regret that “I do” I said to the most wonderful guy in this world!
So we are keeping the tradition of going to NYC for our anniversary! I am so excited about another opportunity to discover more of this great city!!!
Anywho, back to our Monday. I am back here with my exercise recap of the past week.
Monday night, as you know, is spinning night. Last Monday I was back to the spin room with a little extra motivation from Mantra Band that came in the mail earlier that week:
And I did enjoy my journey that night – all 11 miles of it 🙂
On Tuesday I went for another physical therapy session. I have those scheduled 2 times a week for another couple of weeks and then I think I will be done!
Wednesday was a rest day. Usually I do weights and strength training with Jim on Wednesdays, but last week I had to go see my orthopedic doc so we cancelled our session with Jim. Long story short, my doc said I’m doing very well, she got a great progress report on me from my physical therapist, and that if I still have knee problems when I am 45 to come over and get a cortisone shot 🙂 Until then, do PT for as long as my physical therapist wants me to – and that is for another couple weeks. So excited! I need to go back to running again. Even if it is just run/walk for 30 minutes once a week. I have to do it. So I keep going to physical therapy for now, like I did last Thursday:
Before I knew it, the week flew by and it was Friday night. After a hellish day at work I went for my weight and strength training session with Jim – that always makes me feel so much better!
I totally rocked the Captain’s Chair abs workout this time! I did 6 reps of this:
I had no idea I was strong enough to support the weight of my body on straight arms and take my knees to my chest at the same time (whaaaaat? still can’t believe it :))
And do you know why I am able to do it now?
Saturday morning I went for my 10:45 am yoga class. First yoga class that week (I know, unbelievable, right?)
Why does there have to be more than one yoga class for me in a week? Because I really-really-really want to be able to do this:
And that is my motivation to take 3-4 yoga classes a week.
Sunday was a perfect day outside to go for a bike ride. Hubby and I rode 5.5 easy miles around town and on the bike trail:
And I had another yoga class for the week with Terre, which I walked to and from.
Total Cal. burnt exercising this week: 2344!!!
Just keep going, you guys – it does pay off! Above all the benefits I got from my exercise last week – a 1lb weight loss registered at the Friday WW meeting:
Weight loss is a side benefit, not really a primary goal for me anymore – but it still makes me very happy to see the pounds go 🙂
What was your motivation to keep exercising this past week?
Stay fit, friends! and keep going!
