Mother’s Day and Exciting Fitness Plans

I had a wonderful Mother’s Day! This year the kids were with their mom, so I wasn’t really expecting anything except maybe a phone call. Carmen did call saying she needed to come over to pick something up, and….showed up with a pot flower for me! Brought tears to my eyes…

Later that day Simon stopped by and wished me a happy Mother’s Day and my husband cooked dinner for me.

It was an amazing and very emotional day!

Later that evening I talked to my mom on skype! Perfect day all the way around!

On the fitness front: wonderful spinning class last night with Melissa at the YMCA, lifting weights and yoga on Sunday with Terre (I am still sore from that one).

Also, in the latest issue of the Yoga Journal I saw an ad about this event in Time Square on June 21. It is called Solstice in Times Square: Athleta Mind Over Madness Yoga. All the classes are free, but you do need to register in advance to participate. The registration is already open and I have just registered for the 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm class! I am so excited about it!!! From the last year’s event photos, it looks like it is a lot of fun! I am going to try and talk a couple of my yoga-buddies at the YMCA into coming along.

Here is the classes schedule:

And…some Monday night fun from my amazing Carmen and her amazing friend Vodka (yeah…I know):

She chases this kitty all over the place…so this photo is titled “Please, mommy, I don’t wanna play “catch the kitty” anymore!” 🙂

Notice the plead in the kitty’s eyes 🙂

I love watching them play, it always makes me smile, especially if you listen, too – some real “pearls” coming out of that girl’s mouth 🙂 🙂

Stay fit, my friends, and happy Tuesday!
